The location, since you can go on foot to most of the city's tourist attractions; and given Salvador average prices, it's not expensive. Staff also was friendly and helpful.
It's not the hostel's fault, but there's usually loud music on the neighbourhood until around midnight.

In pelourinho if you want to be in the middle of it all, free music entertainment from shops around. Lively atmosphere outside.
Area is a bit dodgy so have to be vigilant at all times. Not for quiet travellers looking for peace. Breakfast not worth mentioning.

My stay at Laranjeiras Hostel was absolutely incredible! The staff were amazing, creating a cozy atmosphere where you could tell they genuinely enjoyed being there. The hostel was impeccably clean, and I highly recommend purchasing the breakfast, which included a variety of fresh fruits. The location couldn't have been better, just 50 meters from a supermarket and surrounded by charming, colorful houses. Plus, the hostel was right across from the Olodum school, providing free drumming shows right outside the entrance. The shared bathrooms were well-maintained, and the reception staff was always helpful. It's also conveniently located near a square with dining options and evening music. I truly loved everything about this hostel.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel in the heart of Pelourinho. the location couldn't be better, as it was only a 20-minute walk to the Campo Grande circuit for carnival festivities. Plus, all the main attractions in Pelourinho were just seconds away. My private room was spacious and comfortable, and I appreciated that it faced inward, so I didn't have to worry about street noise. the room was also cleaned partway through my stay. the highlight for me was the small deck above the café, where I could relax in the hammock and recharge before heading out in the evenings. The hostel staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast spread was impressive with a variety of fresh fruits and cake. Cons: Not obvious to find 🔍.

The location of the hostel was absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of the historic city. the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also loved the unique design of the house, especially our private room under the roof with its own balcony. the water dispenser provided was also a big plus.
The noise at night, which was expected due to the central location. It could get quite loud with music and people, making it difficult to sleep.
